ABC/XYZ Analysis

A focused, diagnostic-stage engagement — not the full PFEP build. See where your inventory actually stands before committing to more.

Value and behaviour, side by side

Every part gets scored two ways: ABC by value — which parts actually drive your inventory spend — and XYZ by demand and lead-time behaviour — which parts are predictable and which are erratic. Cross them, and you get a 3×3 grid that tells you something a value-only report never can: an A-item can still be a planning headache if it’s a Z on variability, and a low-value C-item can be safely automated if it’s steady.

What you get at the end

A completed ABC/XYZ segmentation across your part population, a dashboard showing where inventory sits against MIN/MAX targets by segment, and a prioritised list — which parts are candidates for buffer reduction, which need tighter control, and which are safe to leave alone. Seven days of advisory work, delivered over an 8–10 week window so it fits around your operation rather than disrupting it.

Largely funded, if you’re eligible

This is diagnostic-stage work — exactly what Enterprise Ireland’s LeanStart grant covers: 80%, up to €5,000. You need to be an existing EI client to draw on it; if you’re not sure whether that applies to you, that’s the first thing we’d check together. Full detail on this and the other funding rails is on the Funding page.

Not a one-off report

This analysis is P2 of the full PFEP methodology, pulled forward as a standalone first step. If it surfaces enough to act on immediately, that’s a complete, useful outcome on its own. If it surfaces a bigger opportunity, it’s also the exact foundation the full P0–P5 engagement builds on next — nothing gets redone.
